Granite Cove Pools

Process

Our Process

How a project moves from first message to a finished deck and surround.

01What we don't do

Our process is built around decking and landscaping, not the pool shell itself. We don't pour concrete pool shells, install liners, or handle pool plumbing and water equipment — those stay with licensed pool-installation and pool-service trades, and we coordinate scheduling with them where a project needs both.

We also don't start framing before a written quote is approved; every build begins from a confirmed scope so there are no surprise costs partway through.

Where a pool is newly going in, we stay in touch with your pool-shell contractor to confirm backfill and curing are finished before our crew sets a single footing, since building on ground that hasn't settled is how decks develop problems within their first year of regular use.

02What a quote doesn't include

Being specific about what sits outside a quote avoids awkward conversations partway through a build. These items come up most often and are always flagged separately if they apply to your project:

  • Pool shell, liner or water-equipment work
  • Electrical hookup for lighting beyond the rough-in point
  • Permit fees charged directly by the municipality
  • Removal of an existing deck, unless agreed in the quote
  • Fence or gate work required for pool-safety compliance
  • Furniture, umbrellas or other finishing touches

If any of these turn out to be part of your project, we flag it during the consultation and either price it as a clearly separated line item or point you to the right trade for it. None of this is an undisclosed limitation of the service — it's simply outside what a deck and landscaping crew is licensed and equipped to do.

03How we sequence a project

A first message usually comes with a few photos of the yard and a rough idea of budget. We reply within one business day to set up the consultation visit, where measurements and material choices get fixed on paper before any pricing is finalized.

Once the quote is signed, we slot the build into the schedule — typically within two to four weeks depending on the season — and confirm the start date a week ahead so you can plan around the crew being on site.

During the build itself, footings go in first and are left a short time to set before framing starts. Framing and decking usually follow within the same week, with railing and any planting or pathway work from the Premium package finishing the sequence.

A final walkthrough closes the project: we point out anything you should watch for in the first season, confirm warranty details in writing, and leave contact information for any follow-up questions. Most clients hear from us again only at their first scheduled maintenance visit, unless a question comes up sooner.
